Ray Catalano, Professor of the Graduate School and Professor Emeritus of Public Health, has studied the association between macro economic events and population health for nearly a half century. Catalano served twice as Acting Dean of the School of Public Health as well as Associate Vice Chancellor on the UC Irvine campus. He also served as Vice Mayor and City Councilperson of the City of Irvine.

Dr. Catalano discusses what we know about the health effects of recession and how that knowledge will inform the reopening of America after the COVID19 global pandemic.
