COEH Builds Bridges: Workplace Violence & Mental Health

January 20January 21

01/20 – 01/21/2022 | 12:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Please join COEH UC Berkeley and UC Davis for COEH Builds Bridges: Workplace Violence and Mental Health.

The world of work is changing. In addition to the physical risk of SARS-CoV-2, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the urgent need to address vexing accounts of workplace violence, psychological health and well-being in the workplace, and enduring health disparities. This year’s symposium will feature panel discussions on violence in healthcare and in general industry, examine trends of violence in the California fast-food industry and in healthcare, and encourage discussion on how occupational and environmental health professionals can collaborate across disciplines. Participants will also explore psychological and behavioral health among wildland firefighters, persistent COVID-19 associated neurocognitive symptoms, and strategies for improving mental health access for historically underserved communities.

The COEH Builds Bridges symposium was launched in 2017 and rotates biannually between Berkeley and Sacramento, CA. The 2022 event will be held virtually via Zoom, serving as a merger of the 44th Annual UC Berkeley Lela Morris Symposium and 40th Annual UC Davis Occupational and Environmental Medicine Symposium.
