Bay Area Community Health Scholars

The Bay Area Community Health Scholars program will train a new generation of leaders prepared to shape the future of mental health in the Bay Area. The program will provide scholarships to 6-8 incoming UC Berkeley students combining their training in social work and public health, building a pipeline of graduates who combine the clinical skills of social work with the systems-level perspectives of public health.

Scholars will receive $30,000 in tuition support per year for up to two years. Funding is available to students entering Berkeley’s concurrent MPH/MSW program in fall 2027, as well as students who already hold an MSW degree and will begin an MPH at Berkeley in fall 2027.

The application form will be available in early December 2026 and due in early February 2027.
