January 2020 MCH Washington DC trip

Washington DC, the hub of our federal government, was busy and filled with energy this past winter. I was fortunate enough to be in this metropolitan and experience this energy with other Maternal and Child Health Nutrition Trainees. Learning about public policy creation and processes in the nation’s capital was an eye-opening experience to the complex federal systems. The opportunity to meet my local and state representatives added to the experience by solidifying everything we had learned to that point. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet other trainees and look forward to continued growth and learning with them.
