Professor Hector Rodriguez wins AcademyHealth Disparities Interest Group Distinguished Investigator Award

Berkeley Public Health is pleased to announce that Hector Rodriguez, Kaiser Permanente Endowed Professor of Health Policy and Management and Director of the Center for Healthcare Organizational and Innovation Research, has been selected to receive the AcademyHealth Disparities Interest Group Distinguished Investigator Award. The award is given to investigators who demonstrate commitment to promoting health equity or make significant contributions to health disparities research.

Rodriguez said he was “thrilled to receive this award because it recognizes investigators’ contributions to advancing health equity.”

“It is a special honor to be recognized by scholars who are doing impactful research to address structural racism and eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in health care,” he said. “I am grateful to my team at the UC Berkeley Center for Healthcare Organizational Research (CHOIR) for their outstanding support and teamwork, as well as my PhD trainees over the years for their bold thinking, enthusiasm for making a difference, and intellectual partnership.”
