Student stories: Melanie Dance, Online MPH Fall 2018

I’m currently in Salt Lake City working as a resident physician at St Mark’s Hospital and Primary Children’s Hospital and have been providing inpatient and outpatient care throughout the pandemic. I have used a lot of public health during this crisis: everything from utilizing epidemiology to analyze recommendations and studies, global health to compare our health systems and mindset in my state to that of other countries and their results, applying curve-flattening behaviors and how to best implement those in the context of other health concerns, and of course the infectious disease course has come into play!
