Professor Andres Cardenas awarded Outstanding New Environmental Scientist (ONES) grant

UC Berkeley School of Public Health professor of environmental health sciences Andres Cardenas was awarded a grant through the Outstanding New Environmental Scientist (ONES) program, part of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. The program is intended to support health research leaders at the start of their careers to further innovative environmental health research.

Cardenas will use this grant funding over the next five years to advance his research using data science to model the health effects of exposure to everything from toxic metals to essential nutrients during pregnancy and in early-life, with the goal of improving children’s health.
