Biography
Sarah Stanley, PhD, is an Associate Professor with joint appointments in Molecular and Cell Biology Division of Immunology and Molecular Medicine and the School of Public Health Division of Infectious Disease and Vaccinology. Her research focuses strategies for developing new vaccines and therapies for Tuberculosis, an ancient disease that still causes more mortality globally than any other infection. She is also a founder and director of the Alliance for Global Health and Science, an organization whose mission is to strengthen scientific capacity in East Africa.

- Mechanisms of pathogenesis and immune subversion in tuberculosis
- Protective immunity to tuberculosis
- Metabolic interactions between hosts and pathogens
- Development of novel therapeutics for tuberculosis
- Scientific capacity building
